I’m just curious how much labor would be involved with changing either the oil pressure sensor or the oil pump. The parts aren’t that much, but I’m hoping it’s not a ridiculous amount of labor because I’m trying to squeeze 6 more months of service out of this Ram C/V. I wish I could do the work myself.

What’s the issue? Low/fluttery OP?

the pump is down below basically in the sump, driven by a chain.

CEL came on and shows code P06DD. It has had a noisy lifter for a while and it got a little bit louder on Friday during warmup, then quieted down. Then later in the driver’s shift the light came on. It still is driving normally but I dropped it off at the shop right away. Fortunately we didn’t use it over the weekend.

Oh, okay. I’m going to stay hopeful that it is somewhat easy to change then. Thanks!

From the look of it, you will have to take the whole front of the motor off, up to and including the timing chains.
That’s probably around 10-16 hours work if you know what you are doing.
Or you could just pour some heavy gear oil in the oil. (Kidding, don’t actually do that).
